5 Ways to Promote Better Digestion Without Supplementation

1.Get in the kitchen to help prepare the food you are going to eat. This tells your brain that you are getting ready to eat, which stimulates your pancreas to produce digestive enzymes.





2. Get in a relaxed state prior to eating. Your body cannot digest food in a state of stress. Dance while your food is cooking, express gratitude at the table, do a deep breathing exercise (this also allows you to really smell your food & signals the pancreas to release digestive enzymes).





3. Chew your food thoroughly. The smaller your food particles are, the easier they are to digest. Chewing also lets your body know which digestive enzymes are needed based on the food you are eating. For example, protease is released to breakdown protein.




4. Create a peaceful ambiance at the table. Remove clutter from the area and light some natural beeswax candles! This also promotes being in a relaxed state while eating. Again, you cannot digest your food if you are in a stressed state.






5. Go for a walk after your meal. Walking stimulates your stomach and intestines and can help food move through the digestive tract. Bonus: it helps promote healthy blood glucose levels!
